Category Insights and Analytics Director
The Director of Category Analytics & Insights is an inspirational and strategic leader who will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making, create compelling selling stories and maximize ROI. This role is responsible for leading the Category Analytics & Insights and Shopper Insights teams for a specific client, customer, and/or region to drive insights-to-action. An essential part of this role is driving continuous improvement to enhance the quality of our deliverables and contributions. The Director will lead the charge on a range of transformational initiatives and create innovative solutions to complex business issues that significantly impact category performance.
Moreover, the Director achieves their business objectives by being a thought leader to our customers and clients, coaching the team to deliver outstanding category stewardship, challenging the status quo, streamlining operations, strategically selling through unique insights in a captivating manner and delivering KPIs. The Director’s ultimate success is defined by their ability to transform Category Analytics & Insights’ strategic impact and to inspire their people to transform, develop and grow.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Collaboration: Establish trust and rapport with internal and external partners to accomplish business objectives through understanding of customer goals, strategies, and capabilities.
- People Development: Takes a Leader as Coach approach to managing team to achieve their full potential and deliver business results while proactively building future talent pipeline.
- Thought Leader: Act as a category consultant to our customers and clients by providing unbiased recommendations to drive overall category growth and our client’s market share.
- Category Growth Strategy Development & Execution: Utilizing research findings to craft and implement robust category growth strategies that drive business objectives and deliver tangible results.
- Foundational Tools and Data Capabilities: Developing and enhancing the tools and capabilities necessary for effective category management and strategy execution.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within category leadership team, encouraging adoption of new ideas.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, analytics, or related field required
Experience: 8+ years of experience with demonstrated leadership in roles across functions in CPG, retail, strategy consulting or agency
Professional Category Management Certification a plus (i.e. CMA, CKMG, TPG, Delta Associates, etc.)
