Job Summary:
The EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and management of EDI solutions and processes. This role ensures seamless integration between internal systems and external partners, optimizing the exchange of data while maintaining compliance with industry standards and organizational goals. The EDI Senior Manager will also lead a team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and manage relationships with trading partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive EDI strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Assess and recommend EDI technologies, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Monitor industry trends to ensure EDI practices remain innovative and competitive.
EDI Operations Management:
- Oversee the configuration, testing, and deployment of EDI solutions across Order to Cash processes.
- Manage the onboarding of new trading partners and ensure smooth data integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues to ensure uninterrupted data flow.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure EDI operations comply with industry standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation of EDI processes, mapping, and system configurations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the EDI team to foster skill development and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., IT, supply chain, finance) to align EDI objectives with business needs.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trading partners and service providers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalations related to EDI operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in EDI management, including team leadership roles.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML) and protocols (e.g., AS2, FTP, SFTP).
- Experience with EDI translation software (e.g., IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, GXS Opentxt).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
