Benefits and Leave of Absence Administrator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Benefits and Leave of Absence Administrator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will manage and administer employee benefits programs and leave of absence processes in accordance with Canadian federal and provincial legislation. You will act as a key point of contact for Canadian teammates regarding benefits and leaves, ensuring compliance and providing excellent support.

Responsibilities
Manage daily operations and administration of Canadian retirement plans, and Canadian group benefits plans, including health, dental, life and disability, ensuring accurate and timely processing of enrollments, changes, terminations and claims
Manage and track all types of leaves, including support of the return-to-work process, accommodation coordination and communication
Ensure programs comply with applicable federal and provincial laws and standards
Assist with annual benefit renewals, open enrollment processes and communications
Manage relationships with benefit and leave of absence vendors, ensuring performance standards and compliance
Stay informed on changes in Canadian benefit regulations and trends to identify and implement best practices to improve teammate experience and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field)
Experience Requirements: 2–4 years experience in relevant field (Canadian retirement and group benefits experience preferred)
Travel requirement: No travel requirements

Supervisor Responsibility
Direct Reports: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
Indirect Reports: Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Required Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of Canadian retirement and group benefit plans and leave of absence policies, including relevant regulations and compliance requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to analyze complex benefits data, cost trends, and vendor reports as well as problem-solving skills to resolve benefit issues, claims escalations, and compliance gaps
Experience with benefit audits, compliance and data validation processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for teammate education, vendor negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration; ability to explain complex benefits topics clearly to non-technical audiences
Proficient with HRIS and benefits administration systems; comfortable with data file feeds, payroll integrations, and vendor platforms; strong spreadsheet skills and experience with reporting tools
