Space & Assortment Planning Coordinator
Where merchandising strategy turns into what shoppers actually see on the shelf.
About Us
We're one of North America's leading sales and marketing agencies, partnering with manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food and consumer packaged goods. We sit right in the middle of the retail ecosystem, connecting brands with retailers across grocery, mass, club, drug, dollar, convenience, specialty, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. Our work helps put the best products in front of consumers every day.
The Role
Ever wonder why a store's shelves are laid out the way they are? Someone planned that, and this role puts you on the team that does.
As a Space & Assortment Planning Associate, you'll join a collaborative team that shapes how products are arranged, selected, and presented in stores. You'll get hands-on with industry-standard space planning software, learn how retail strategy translates into real-world shelf sets, and build a skill set that's in demand across the whole retail and CPG industry.
What You'll Do
- Support the planning team on space and assortment projects, with room to work independently and the chance to collaborate with teammates and clients
- Keep our data sharp by maintaining and updating information across our planning tools so the whole department can count on it
- Build your technical chops working in space and assortment building software, with guidance and supervision as you grow
- Learn the strategy behind the shelf, including how planning initiatives come together and how to find creative solutions that help customers hit their goals
- Get to know our clients and what drives their strategies, so you can support the department with real context
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- Around 1-2 years of experience in merchandising or planogram development, or a strong interest in learning, since planogram or floorplan knowledge is preferred but not required
- Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers
- Strong organization and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
Why You'll Like It
- Real learning curve: You'll learn the craft from experienced planners, not just do repetitive tasks
- Visible impact: Your work shows up on store shelves
- A clear path in: Merchandising and category management skills open doors across the industry
- Predictable setup: This is an office-based role with no travel or driving requirements
Work Environment
This is primarily an office-based position involving extended periods of computer work. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required.
